How's the new mechanics? I plan to give MEIOU a little bit to work out bugs. They did a lot of coding to introduce new features so I'd imagine it will have issues.

"Evangelize the n------ so that they stay forever in submission to the white colonialists, so they never revolt against the restraints they are undergoing. Recite every day - "happy are those who are weeping because the kingdom of God is for them." Convert always the blacks by using the whip. I don't have any complaints about the new mechanics themselves so far, just information regarding them.

For example, it would be great if the screen for education funding could give me a guess at how much my proposed increases to education funding would impact things. How far along a one-time endowment would get it, how much more I would need to add to annual funding to stop a decline, etc. Same goes for maintaining the imperial court.

Speaking of, the Turks are getting fucked so badly that they've moved their capital to the middle of Anatolia.

They also have ~1.5 million more people than I do, yet I have a higher income and my population is growing faster. Urbanization: it's powerful.

Turks have been expelled from the Aegean coast, the Venetians are slowly being threatened into giving up their holdings in Greece. I would just outright attack them, but I don't have enough of a navy to beat theirs, and they're willing to give into threats. So every few years another province is gained, they're down to 2.

Knights of Rhodes are holding onto two provinces, and are protected by the Venetian fleet. I'm nearing being able to diplo-vassalize them, but alas, not yet.

I was supposed to inherit the throne of Hungary, but then their 69 year-old queen had an heir. Somehow.

All I need left from Venice is Naxos, the Knights are awaiting vassalization just as soon as Venice loses to Milan.

France and England continue their struggle for dominance of France. As you can see, England has let an independent Ireland form, because of their focusing on France. The non-Ireland countries on Ireland are their vassals-they've united the island.

Kalmar Union never fell apart.

Lithuania keeps beating the crap out of Moscow, the poor bastards.

Polish Crimea has been occupied for the better part of 50 years, you'd think something would happen by now.

And now, my favorite part:

CALVINIST. PRUSSIANS. GOD HELP US ALL.

As we near the year 1600, the Empire of the Romans is more prosperous than it has been in centuries. The Ottomans continue to be pushed back, and the last remnant of the crusaders is the Kingdom of Cyprus, under our protection until we can get over there and fabricate claims.

The Mamluks have been almost completely wiped off the map, existing in a few patches along the Nile.

One day I'll probably help Muscovy get, well, Moscow back. One day.

Spain managed to help France kick England out of Aquitaine. The cost? Spain got Aquitaine. France can't seem to catch a break, with the expanded Anjou not only being independent, but with France having no cores or claims there.

Naples has managed to kick Spain out of Sicily, and the silly Spaniards gave Malta to the Knights after I diplo-annexed them. The kicker is that they had converted to Orthodoxy, so Spain just gave Catholic Malta to Orthodox Knights.

The British Isles are so pretty that I can't even.

A short 36 years later, Muscovy continues to shrink, Rome continues to expand, and France continues to get teabagged by everyone around them. Seriously. There probably won't even be a France by the end of the game, let alone 1700.

Its the long game...kebab is weak and broken, so they eat up other broken people, which Rome can then 'free' from Turkish oppression.

Their land is practically worthless by way of encouraging urbanization or large-scale agriculture. They also keep having to give me war reparations, and keep having their entire country occupied. They don't even have the strength to beat back Orthodox missionaries I send to the border provinces to speed things along. They aren't even powerful enough to be my rivals anymore.

They're removed, they just don't know it yet.

Will have pictures later, but I'm encountering various issues as the game goes on. Currently in the early 18th century.

In a technical sense, crashes are more common now.

In a game mechanics sense, global trade, manufactories, and enlightenment (the last 3 institutions) don't exist yet. I meet all of the requirements for manufactories and enlightenment to start in Constantinople, and I assume that some AI do too, but alas, no luck. Seems like it might be a bug.

Colonization is super slow. As in, the Spanish only recently started taking over the Aztecs. I can't see North America, but I'm 99% sure that it's hardly colonized, except for Scandinavian Canada (the only colonial nation there). Forget making it to India or Indonesia.

Burghers, being the estate in control of Constantinople, have thousands upon thousands of ducats. Instead of building things of value in any of my large cities, they CBA to do anything more than the occasional useless building in a useless province. I get that they're supposed to do their own thing, but I should be able to get some ability to point them in the right direction.

I keep getting the "Plague has struck [city]!" event, but the only modifier said city gets is "Plague has passed over us". Sounds wrong.

I'm sticking with 1.27 for now. It sounds like 2.0 has too many bugs still. Maybe the overhaul was a bit ambitious.

2.0 was supposed to release soon. This is 1.99 I know. It just seems like weeks or months of bugs to fix.

I am also playing the original beta, for which they've fixed several problems for already with 1.99.02.

Official 2.0 is supposed to be out sometime on the 28th though. I'll be waiting to see the changelog.
